Akhil Das, OTR/L, DPT

Owner

Dr. Das has over 33 years of experience in physical and occupational therapy. He was born and raised in Cuttack, India. In 1993, he went to Delhi University and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. He practiced as an OT in India for a short time before moving to the United States. In the United States, he practiced as a traveling therapist in North Carolina, Indiana, Michigan, Kansas and, New Jersey. In 1995, Dr. Das settled in the Tampa Bay Area and practiced in an Outpatient Clinic, Rehab Center, and skilled nursing facilities. He became a Director of Rehab at a skilled nursing facility and then was promoted to an Area Manager where he supervised five rehab facilities.

Dr. Das then pursued management at Eckerd College, Florida and graduated with high honors in 2003. Wanting to help more people, he went to the prestigious University of St. Augustine Florida and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009 with a specialization in manual therapy. Dr. Das was the valedictorian for the Class of 2009 at the University of St. Augustine.

Dr. Das started Focus Rehab Inc. in 2010 with a vision of restoring quality of life and helping clients recognize their true potential. As a physical and occupational therapist, he understands the complexity of the whole body and can individualize a treatment plan based on the client's goal.

Outside of work, he is a father to two wonderful children and a loving husband to his wife, Manisha. He loves to travel and enjoys cooking.
