Pulmonary rehabilitation helps patients increase awareness of their lungs in regards to performing activity. Pulmonary rehab also helps patients improve overall pulmonary function. Pulmonary rehabilitation is beneficial for patients with pulmonary conditions. In chest physical therapy, the therapist uses various airway clearance techniques to drain the lungs. These techniques may include: percussion, vibration, deep breathing, and huffing or coughing.
